On this video I aim to find the the circumstances of a space capsule which is rotating around the sun on a 48 hour orbit. This is done with a motorised mechanism rotating the light slowly. The plant lives inside this capsule.

The plants are growing on a motorised rotating platform with the camera. The rotation is accelerating and plants are finding their foot on this new gravity.

Two plants are growing inside a transparent cube. When they grow out of it, they are soon to be contained to an another cube. The pile of cubes grow as the plants grow.

Labyrinth was growing with plants for 5 months. I wanted to see what kind of solutions would plants find growing through labyrinth. They would have to make choices. During this time there was several changes of power, drama and death, but also new young ones which would eventually take over.

Labyrintissä kasvoi kilpailevia kasveja 5:n kuukauden ajan. Halusin nähdä millaisia valintoja kasvit tekevät edetessään labyrintissä. 5:n kuukauden aikana tapahtui paljon draamaa, kasvukilpailuja, vahvimman kasvin valloittaessa tilan tukahduttaen muut, saman vahvemman kasvin kuihtuminen ja nuorempien kasvien nousu ja tilan valloitus.

Aim of the experiment was to get the plants to make ‘a mechanical movement’ in a way that they would be somehow operating the instrument. And they did.
